Abundant wildlife

Everyone in the South Cariboo will agree that overall wildlife sightings seem to be down this year however late summer and fall provided quite a show for area residents.  Otters, mink, ermine and bald eagles have provided quite a show along the lake shore for those close enough to see their activity. Grouse, rabbits, deer and foxes have wandered through the yards all around the lake and seem to be getting somewhat domesticated within the human population. Further into the forest, wolves, moose and even elk have been spotted. Cougars have been prowling neighbouring communities, but no sightings have been reported in the Lac des Roches subdivisions.
